Despina Scarlatou

Greek soprano, she was born in Thessaloniki. She studied in Greece and abroad. She completed the Tempo theatre school in Lucca, Italy, and continued her singing postgraduate studies in Spazio Musica in Genova, Italy. Since 22 years old she has been singing soloist roles in such operas and operettas as La traviata, La bohème, Carmen, The Medium, Le nozze di Figaro, Macbeth Remix, Gianni Schicchi, Prima la musica poi le parole, La serva padrona, L’elisir d’amore, Rigoletto, Jommelli’s L’uccelatrice, La belle Hélène, Orphée aux enfers, Die Fledermaus, The love bacillus, Halima, I want to see the Pope! and Hänsel und Gretel. She has received numerous awards in international competitions and has given numerous opera and operetta recitals in Greece and abroad. Since 2006 she has been cooperating regularly with the Greek National Opera.
