Kyros Patsalides

Greek baritone, he was born in Cyprus. He graduated from the Athens Conservatory (diploma in singing under Kiki Morfoniou) and completed his studies at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts (Walter Berry’s class). He studied law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He won the first prize at the International Competition of the Budapest State Opera (1995). Since then he has followed an international career with appearances in lyric theatres, festivals and concert halls worldwide such as Vienna State Opera, Budapest State Opera, Arena di Verona, Teatro Jovellanos (Gijón, Spain), Maribor State Opera, Vienna Musikverein, Berlin Concert Hall, International Festival of the Two Worlds (Spoleto), Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival (Finland), Vienna Festival, Athens Festival, etc. He has performed the leading roles in Macbeth and Don Giovanni, Germont (La traviata), Escamillo (Carmen), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), Marcello (La bohème), Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), etc. He collaborates regularly with the GNO. He was honoured by the Republic of Cyprus for his contribution to the cultural events of his native homeland.
