Violetta Lousta

Greek soprano, born in Florina. She studied piano, advanced music theory and classical singing (diploma with honours). With a scholarship from the Conservatory of Florina, she continued her postgraduate studies at the Würzburg University of Music, Germany, with Cheryl Studer and attended masterclasses with major artists. She has participated in opera productions in roles such as Lady Billows (Albert Herring), Second Norn and Gutrune (Götterdämmerung), Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Second lady (Die Zauberflöte), Venus (Rossi’s L’Orfeo), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Tchang-Haitang (Zemlinsky’s Der Kreidekreis), Lapák the dog (Příhody lišky Bystroušky), Desdemona (Otello), Mother (Hänsel und Gretel), Mimì (La bohème). She has collaborated with distinguished conductors. Moreover, Lousta has presented contemporary Greek composers’ works and has collaborated with ensembles such as the Emilios Riadis String Quartet. She teaches at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory of  Thessaloniki and at the Conservatory of Florina, Western Macedonia. She studied and completed postgraduate studies at the Department of Pre-School Education of the Pedagogical Academy of Florina.
