TITOS GOUVELIS

Born in Athens, he studied piano with Aris Garoufalis, Peter Katin, Fali Pavri and Dominique Merlet, as well as organ with Nicolas Kynaston. He has won prizes in many piano competitions in Greece and abroad. He has performed as soloist with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the State Philharmonic of Transylvania, Royal Symphonic Orchestra of Bangkok, Athens and Thessaloniki State Orchestras, Armonia Atenea, Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, etc. He has given piano recitals and chamber music concerts in Greece and abroad (Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Holland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, South Korea, Thailand and Cyprus). His repertoire ranges from the Baroque era to the 21st century and includes works by more than 60 Greek composers. He contributes texts to the programmes of the Athens State Orchestra and often writes essays for the programmes of the Athens Concert Hall and the Athens Epidaurus Festival. He currently teaches at the Athens Conservatoire and at the Continuus Seminar of Chamber Music of the Athens State Orchestra with cellist Angelos Liakakis.
