Alexandra K*

Alexandra K* (1985) is a Greek playwright, author and screenwriter based in Athens. Her most recent projects include her plays milk, blood, a modern version of Euripides’ Medea (commissioned by the Athens Epidaurus Festival) and Revolutionary Ways to Clean Your Swimming Pool (National Theatre of Greece), which has been widely translated and received a EURODRAM award. Works of hers have been commissioned by the Greek National Opera and the National Theatre of Greece, she has collaborated with Greece’s National Broadcasting Company on several TV productions and published the novel How Sea Urchins Kiss (Patakis Publications, 2017). She has been selected as a writer-in-residence at the International Writing Program of the Iowa University (2021). She has served as a Board Member of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. Her latest book, Things the Virgin Mary Thinks While Smoking Hidden in the Bathroom (short stories, Patakis Publications), was released in April 2023.
