Kornilios Selamsis

Composer born in Athens, he works on contemporary classical music and music for theatre. He lived in Holland (2004/10), where he studied at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Works have been commissioned and played by numerous ensembles such as ASKO Ensemble, Nieuw Ensemble, orkest de ereprijs, Łódź Philharmonic, ARTéfacts Ensemble, Athens State Orchestra, Orchestra of Colours, Ventus Ensemble, etc, in Belgium, Holland, France, Poland, Canada, Germany, etc. He composes music for theatre, collaborating with directors such as Harris Fragoulis, Dimitris Karantzas, Akyllas Karazisis, Sofia Paschou, Nikos Karathanos and Thomas Moschopoulos. His orchestration on Konstantinos Vita’s music entitled Cohabitation was published from Onassis Cultural Centre. He has been artistic director of the Porta Theatre concert project “Parallel Tuesdays” (May 2014/16). Since November 2015 he has been coordinating and teaching at the Music Composition Lab of the National Theatre, Athens.
