Jovanka Zarić

Born in Argostoli, Cephalonia, she graduated from the National Ballet School of Belgrade, Serbia. She was a Soloist of the Belgrade National Ballet (2014-19). In 2019 she joined the GNO Ballet. She has danced roles such as Lilac Fairy (The Sleeping Beauty), Queen of Dryads (Don Quixote), Big Swans & Spanish Dance (Swan Lake), Spanish Dance (The Nutcracker), Grand pas d’action (La Bayadère), Duchess of Monmouth (The Picture of Dorian Gray) and others, and Kitri and Carmen in galas. She was honoured with the Nataša Bošković award for the Best Interpretation as Swanilda’s Friend (Coppélia, 2015/16). She danced in works of Vladimir Vasiliev, Gabriela Komleva, Vladimir Logunov, Mikhail Lavrovsky, Dimitrije Parlić, Konstantin Kostjukov, Ljubinka Dobrijević, Lidija Pilipenko, Konstantinos Rigos, Ioannis Mandafounis. She collaborated with renowned teachers such as Sergei Bondur, Gábor Keveházi, Denys Ganio, Alla Shirkevich, Ronald Savković, Svetozar Adamović, Leo Mujić. She participated as a soloist in performances with Svetlana Zakharova, Mikhail Lobukhin, Anna Tikhomirova, Maria Allash, Alexander Volchkov, Denys Nedak, Natalia Matsak, Anna Tsygankova, Jozef Varga, Matthew Golding. In 2019 she began her postgraduate research in Dance Performance (Middlesex University of London).
