Christina Poulitsi

Greek soprano, she studied musicology (NKUA), opera at the Berlin University of Arts (“Maria Callas” and “Alexandra Trianti” scholarships) and received the first prize at the Nico Dostal International Competition (Vienna). She is acclaimed as one of the best interpreters of the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), a role she has sung at the most prestigious theatres worldwide, including the Royal Opera House (London), Bolshoi Theatre, as well as in Berlin, Hamburg, Tokyo, Seattle, Paris, Turin, Bologna, Barcelona, Shanghai, Dresden, etc. Moreover, she has sung Gilda (Rigoletto) under Mehta, among others, in Florence, Dusseldorf, GNO (Best young artist award by the Union of Greek Critics of Drama, 2013), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), the title role in Stravinsky’s Nightingale (cond. Gianandrea Noseda), Contessa di Folleville (Il viaggio a Reims, Pesaro, cond. Andrea Battistoni), Sister Constance (Dialogues des carmélites, Berlin), Italian singer (R. Strauss’ Capriccio, alongside Renée Fleming under Christian Thielemann, Dresden), etc. She is a close collaborator of Barrie Kosky, director of the Komische Oper Berlin.
