Giuseppe Verdi, Stiffelio (1850)

Stiffelio is one of Verdi's operas that are rarely staged, mostly on account of its plot which faced the censorship of its times. The opera is a narrative about the tale of the unfaithful wife of a priest who eventually forgives her. Stiffelio is contemporary to Rigoletto and it includes a great number of interesting elements, which the GNO aspires to highlight in this concert version of Verdi’s work.
